Wildcats hang on to win 16 - 7

Last night, June 26th at 6:30pm, the Wildcats hosted the Leominster Razorbacks at Commerce Bank Field at Foley Stadium. It was a beautiful night for football and a great opportunity for both teams to shake off the rust before the regular season begins. It also gave fans a chance to check out their new look Wildcats as they debuted new uniforms for both the players and cheerleaders.

The game saw it’s share of penalties as is to be expected in a preseason tune-up, but the Wildcats showed promise on both sides of the ball in the 16-7 win. David Bugan opened the scoring with a 62 yard Touchdown run in the opening seconds of the 2nd quarter en route to an 8 carry 105 yard night. Quarterback Justin Power had a strong game completing 5 of 9 passes for 101 yards and a Touchdown. Brian Daniels led the Wildcats receivers with 2 catches for 44 yards, including a 25 yard Touchdown pass to cap the scoring for Worcester early in the second half.

The Wildcats Defense played a great game holding Leominster to 7 points. Joe Reddington and Matt Colby were all over the field making key stops for the home team. Tim Towle chipped in with an interception, while Dibe added a sack and a fumble recovery.

Make sure to mark your calendars for July 24th as the Wildcats kick off the regular season with a home game against the Southern Maine Raging Bulls. Kickoff will be at 6:30 PM at Worcester’s Commerce Bank Field at Foley Stadium! Keep checking our webpage and facebook groups for updates and great deals heading into the 2010 NEFL season!
