The 2018 Wildcats season has begun. Almost mid-season, the team is now at Game 4. The Wildcats have jumped to a great start with a 2 – 1 record, losing last week to the undefeated, now 3 – 0 Mass Warriors. The Wildcats look to bounce back tonight as they take on long-time rival the Connecticut Green Valley Blackhawks. Game time is Saturdays game will be played at 79 Westfied Ave – Danielson, CT with a 6:30pm Kick-off (weather permitting).
With so much anticipation for this season and with the team starting off with four straight away games, the Wildcats were looking forward to conclude their road trips this weekend. The original first home game was dated for August 18th., however, scheduled plans have changed.
For those who didn’t know, Foley Stadium is undergoing some project renovations which started with the field turf being replaced. The original completion was slated to be prior to the August 18th opener, but with some weather and other unforeseen delays, the Wildcats will be looking to relocate their August 18th home date to Doyle Field in Leominster.
“Much effort was put into keeping the Wildcats home opener in Worcester, but unfortunately we simply could not find another venue that could accommodate locally”, said Dennis Faulkner – Head Coach of the Wildcats. “The one great thing about our return on the 7th is that when we do, it will truly be a matchup to see". In the meanwhile, come down to Doyle Field on August 18th and help give us the boost that we need to keep the goals of a post season appearance alive.
The Wildcats will return home for Game 7 on September 7th. This game will be a rematch against the Mass Warriors who currently remain undefeated. Without question, this rematch will be one of the leagues games of the year.
